About SongFinder
Your companion for discovering music
How It Started
SongFinder started from a problem we kept running into ourselves. We would hear a song at a café, at a friend's place, or in a video, try to identify it with the usual apps, and get nothing back. The recording was too noisy, the volume too low, or the clip too short for a clean match.
One of us had a background in audio engineering and would open those failed recordings in a DAW and work on them until they were clean enough to try again. It almost always worked after that.
But that workflow required a studio setup, expensive software, and the knowledge to use it all. That gap between a rough phone recording and a clean enough clip for recognition was the problem, and nobody was solving it.
Our Mission
We built SongFinder to close that gap: professional-grade audio tools paired with song recognition, free and simple enough for anyone to use without training. When other apps fail on a noisy or difficult recording, the editing tools help you get the result anyway.
Who We Are
A small team with backgrounds in software development and music production. Several of us are active musicians and producers who spend time in DAWs as much as in code editors.
That mix of building software and actually making music is what got SongFinder started, and it's what keeps us working on it.
